Astra Trike
The Astra Trike is manufactured in the American Mid West and has been developed using British technology. The Astra Trike is a comfortable, long range touring aircraft that is also ideal for training. At present, two engine options are available: the extremely economical HKS 700E - 60 BHP - 2 cylinder - 4 stroke or the powerful 4 cylinder- 4 stroke - Rotax 912. The Astra Trike has been designed and manufactured to comply with the requirements of BCAR Section S Issue 2, and the American Sportplane aircraft design category.
Many parts for the wing are manufactured by ourselves, including the wing sail, storage bag, wing bag and packing set. We also manufacture the structural wing frame tubes for the Astra Trike.
Bill Sherlock became an "Astranaut" on the 26th April 2005, when he test flew the first complete Astra Trike at Shawnee airport, Bloomfield Indiana. It met all expectations - and then some!
Later this year, we intend to start the process of introducing the Astra to the UK market.
